Not Quite the Centenary
The Brisbane City Council's centenary seminar by the Brisbane History Group will delve into the city's early history, exploring topics such as the establishment of local government, significant infrastructure projects, and the amalgamation of smaller councils. Speakers will discuss the political climate surrounding these events, as well as the social and cultural factors that shaped Brisbane's development. The seminar will also commemorate the bicentenary of the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement and the centenary of public transport in Brisbane.
