Hamilton, another riverside locality, was constituted as a town in 1904, having previously been part of the Toombul Shire. Named after a prominent landholder, Hamilton's history is closely tied to its prestigious riverfront properties and its role as an affluent residential area. Its elevated positions offered excellent views, and it became a sought-after address for Brisbane's more prosperous citizens, contributing to its unique character before amalgamation.
